1/35 SCALE FUKUIRAPTOR

Length: 118mm. Image shows assembled and painted kit.
Human silhouettes are included to give a sense of scale.

The age of the dinosaurs: an era that continues to fascinate as we make further discoveries and gain a deeper understanding of what was happening hundreds of millions of years ago.

What was Fukuiraptor?

Fukui Prefecture in Japan is a hotbed of dinosaur fossil discovery and research. There, Katsuyama City is the site of a layer of exposed rock dating back 120 million years called the Kitadani Formation, and it was there that the fossilised remains of the first new species of carnivore discovered in Japan – in 2000 named Fukuiraptor kitadaniensis - were found. The specimen is 4.7 meters in length, but it is believed that Fukuiraptor in fact grew to larger sizes. Possessing sharp teeth, large front claws and long hind legs, it is thought that Fukuiraptor preyed upon herbivores such as Fukuisaurus.

Based upon academic research

This is a scale model with realistic depictions of shape, pose and even skin texture based upon evidence gathered from research performed by recognized academic institutions and giving it life.

No cement required – the Clic Loc series!

Faithful to their subjects in form but with a simple assembly process in which parts simply fit together, these Clic Loc series models achieve a fine finish using a small number of parts.

What color was Fukuiraptor?

Unfortunately, there is no evidence in the fossil record regarding its color, but we can refer to its distant relatives in the modern day, and there are plenty of ideas in reference materials both printed and electronic. Think about the environment it lived in, too! Tamiya Color paint products are recommended.
