The Nagara-class of 5,500 ton light cruisers were modelled on British designs and built in the late-1910s. This model depicts the Nagara, the leadship of this 6-ship class. Its simple design focused on speed, and features such as the "spoon bow" revealed its British influences. During WWII, she was active in many battles from the Philippines to Midway before she was finally sunk by a U.S. submarine in 1944. The model depicts how she appeared in her final form, with additional AA guns fitted.
