The 2A6 variant took the Leopard's offensive capabilities and survivability to a new level: it featured an L/55 120mm smoothbore gun with superior muzzle velocity and improved armor piercing. Wedge-shaped additional armor was carried over from the 2A5, and the commander was given a panorama sight with thermal imaging viewer, while the gun had an electronic control and stabilization system. The Leopard 2A6 was deployed with units from Spring 2001.

★This image gives a rear view of the model. Belt type tracks recreate the full-size ones accurately, and can be painted and cemented.

★The distinctive turret is faithfully depicted, with smoke dischargers. Commander and loader hatches can be assembled open or closed.

★Parts are also included in the kit to depict the gunfire simulator, installed on the full-size vehicle to add realism to exercises.

★Commander and loader figures are included for installation in the turret, as is an optional depiction of the rotating light for exercises.
