The Lamborghini Countach prototype made huge waves among the general public when it was announced at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, thanks to its futuristic body lines and highly progressive design themes. It has long been a popular subject in the Tamiya R/C model line-up, and this latest assembly kit model recreates the 5000S, a car that was released in 1982 and possessed an awe-inspiring 5-liter engine. The quintessential Countach form is recreated in polycarbonate, with masking stickers for the windows, paired with plated “Bravo” style wheels and radial tires, all based on the shaft-driven 4WD of the TT-02 chassis.

TT-02: Adaptable, balanced shaft driven 4WD
The shaft-driven 4WD TT-02 chassis employs a longitudinal layout with the battery on the left and the motor on the right, to give excellent stability. In addition, it features identical left and right suspension arms and uprights for ease of assembly, plus easy-to-maintain gearboxes. It is a highly adaptable chassis, as it offers 2 different wheelbases, 2 ground clearance settings and 2 tread set-ups in addition to a range of 10 possible gear ratios. It is not short on looks either, with brake disc-shaped wheel hubs and stylish front bumper supports. Metal-plated “Bravo” style wheels use semi-pneumatic treaded radial tires.

  • The unforgettable 5000S form is recreated in polycarbonate.


  • Plated light cases are used for the turn signal/position lamps and the fog lamps in the bumper. They can be lit up with separately sold 3mm (turn signals/position lamps) and 5mm (fog lamps) LEDs.


  • Mirrors and their accordion stalks are a separately molded part, with stickers for use making their mirror surfaces. Masking stickers are included for the windows. You can of course paint the body any color you like!


  • Taillamps also use separate light cases, which can be lit up with one 5mm and two 3mm LEDs on either side.


  • The injection molded rear wing has integrated stays and end plates.


  • Metal-plated “Bravo” style wheels add the finishing touch.


  • Resin ball links in the steering linkage joints make for smooth, comfortable motion.


  • Wheel hubs are shaped to look like brake discs.


  • Motor cover includes removable cooling duct (not attached in this image).
