This assembly kit creates a robot whose movement can be programmed by the use of cam parts. The dual motors power triangular tracks and left/right arms in unison. Cams are inserted into the central program bar, and as it is pushed through the model by the program bar gear, the position of the cams is translated to the steering legs, which are lifted off the surface and cause the robot's motion to change. Different assembly patterns create 2 different types of motion. Program bars give approximately 35 seconds of movement each, and can be joined together for longer patterns. Includes everything needed for easy snap-fit/screw-together assembly.

Choose from 2 different types!
Cams are translated into movement as they push down the steering legs on either side, which raises that side's track off the ground. The model offers 2 different types of movement: the first (Type A) has the robot move forward when no cam is present, turn in that direction when there is a cam on one side only, and stop when there are cams on both sides. Type B sees the robot turn left when no cam is present, move forwards or backwards when there is a cam on one side, and stop when there are cams on both sides. Changing between the two types involves changing the motor wiring and adding/removing steering leg boots. The set also includes 3 different lengths of cam that in turn give different lengths of command. This model also has space for a universal plate, which can be used to host a microcontroller to give the robot commands (plate, microcontroller sold separately).
